Interdisciplinary modules storyboard

The task of the interdisciplinary modules coordinated by the faculty members is to formally introduce the PhD students to the research “profession”. Their function is therefore primarily technical-scientific. To this end, they also use workshop strategies.

Interdisciplinary Module November-December 2020

The initial months of the 2019-2020 PhD course were devoted to an analysis on the professional profile of the researcher (Scholar) within and beyond the academic profession. In addition, work continued on building basic research skills with particular attention to methodological aspects. Particular attention was paid to mixed methods research with a focus on IT tools. The aim was to provide practical, reflective and metariflexive tools to accompany the PhD students of the XXXV Cycle and previous Cycles in the focus of their research projects.

Interdisciplinary Module May 2021

The second interdisciplinary module focused on quantitative research methods, with particular attention to the introduction to basic statistical analysis (descriptive statistics) and inferential statistics. In particular, the activity was organised through workshops run by the Departmental Lab Viralab, which was also involved in the former November-December module concerning laboratory aspects of research with mixed methods.

During the course, four evaluation and self-evaluation meetings called "Research Dialogues" were organised by the PhD College.
